InOctober1993theauthorityoverthetransmitterwastransferredfromtheUnitedStatesCoastGuardtotheJapanCoastGuard.In2000thetowerofthestationwasagaindismantledandreplacedbyanewonewithaheightof213meters. MarcusIslandLORAN-CtransmitterwastheX-RaysecondarystationoftheNorthWestPacificLORAN-CChainGRI8930.Itstransmissionpowerwasreducedto1100kilowatts. OnDecember1,2009,thestationwasabolishedduetoadeclineinusers.[1]Themasthasbeendemolished.
