Scientistsdonotfullyunderstandallofthecausesoflymphoma,butresearchhasfoundmanylinks.Forexample— Researchhasshownthatpeoplewhoareinfectedwiththehumanimmunodeficiencyvirus(HIV)areatmuchhigherriskofdevelopinglymphoma. Peopleexposedtohighlevelsofionizingradiationhaveahigherriskofdevelopingnon-Hodgkinlymphoma. FamilyhistoryhasbeenlinkedwithahigherriskofHodgkinlymphoma. Somestudiessuggestthatspecificingredientsinherbicidesandpesticidesmaybelinkedwithlymphoma,butscientistsdon’tknowhowmuchisneededtoraisetheriskofdevelopinglymphoma. SymptomsofLymphoma SymptomsofHodgkinlymphomaandnon-Hodgkinlymphomaincludeswollenlymphnodes,especiallyinthepartofthebodywherethelymphomastartstogrow.Othersymptomsincludefever,nightsweats,feelingtired,andweightloss.
