TheGRCNisguidedbyfourmainprinciples: City-led:mayors,cityleadersandCROswillparticipateinthegovernanceofthenetwork. Impact-focused:theworkwillprioritizeresilientprojectsthataimtoimprovethelivesofthepoorandvulnerable. Regionally-driven:activitieswillbedesignedwithmoreflexibilitytocatertomembercities’needs. Partnership-basednetwork:toattainself-sustainabilityinthenearfuture. ThenewGRCNstartedoperationsonSeptember1st,2019andisdedicatingitsfirstmonthstoco-designitsinternalgovernanceandprograms,alongwiththerebrandingoftheorganizationtostrengthenitsessenceandbetterrepresentthevalueoftheexpertise,knowledgeandgrassrootsoftheNetwork.Ateamledbyformer100RCexecutivessupportstheNetworkwithregionalofficesinLondon,MexicoCity,NewYork,andSingapore.GRCNiscomprisedof98membercitiesin40countriesoftheformer100ResilientCitiesinitiativeandisexpectingtowelcomeupto10newmembersin2020.
