ThebuttonsandslidersbelowthePresetdropdowncanbeusedtobuildyourownselectionorrefineapresetselection.Itispossibletoconstructquitecomplexselections,forexample,Americansatellitesinlowearthorbit(apogee/perigee<2,000km)thatarenotjunk. Tocleartheselection,clickPresets>ResetAll. Clickingonanindividualsatelliteinthe3dviewwilldisplayapanelwithdetailedinformation.LinkstoNASA'swebsiteareprovidedforadditionalinformation.Inadditiontodisplayingnameandorbitaldetails,the3dviewdisplaysthesatellite'sfuturetrajectorywithrespecttotheEarth'ssurface.Bydefaultthetrajectoryisforonedaybutthiscanbechangedtoeitheronehouroroneweek. Perhapsthemostsurprisingfactforusersofthisapplicationisthelargeproportionoforbitalobjectsclassifiedasjunk.Approximately3/4ofmanmadeobjectsarespentrocketboostersordebrisfromsatellitecollisions. ItisimportanttonotethatsatellitepositionsarederivedfromanephemerisdatabasedownloadedinJuly14,2020.Assuchthisappwillnotdisplaysatelliteslaunchedsincethenorreflectintentionallyorunintentionallyorbitaladjustments.Similarlyatmosphericfrictionandgravitationalforcesarelikelytoinfluenceorbitalposition.Howeverthedifferentbetweenprojectedandactualpositionisunlikelytobeperceptibleatthescaleused.
