There are four primary vital signs: body temperature, blood pressure, pulse (heart rate), and breathing rate (respiratory rate), often notated as BT, BP, HR, ... Temperature[edit] Temperaturerecordinggivesanindicationofcorebodytemperaturewhichisnormallytightlycontrolled(thermoregulation)asitaffectstherateofchemicalreactions.Bodytemperatureismaintainedthroughabalanceoftheheatproducedbythebodyandtheheatlostfromthebody. Oralglassthermometer Temperaturecanberecordedinordertoestablishabaselinefortheindividual'snormalbodytemperatureforthesiteandmeasuringconditions.
