ThisguidewillshowyouwheretofindallofthejournalsintheGoneHome:ConsoleEdition.CollectingallofthejournalsquicklywillgrantyoutheSpeedreaderachievement.Followourstepstotrackdowneachhiddencollectible. InordertoearntheSpeedreaderachievement,youmustcollectallofthejournalsinthehouseinundertenminutes,withoutusinganymodifiers.Thereare24journalstotal,oneofwhichbelongstoMittensratherthanSam.Onceyouknowthelocationofeachjournal,youshouldbeabletoearnthisachievementrathereasily.Werecommendthatyouattemptthisonyoursecondplaythrough,inordertoavoidstoryspoilersandtomakenavigatingthehouseabiteasier. Journal#1-AttheNewHouse:Grabthefrontdoorkeyoutofthecabinetonthefrontporch,andenterthehouse.Turnlefttofindthisjournalonthefronthalltablebesidethebathroom. Journal#2-FirstDayofSchool:Onthefirstfloor,enterthedoorontheleftleadingintoahallway.Turnonthehalllights,thenentertheclosetdoorontheleft.Readthenotestickingoutofthebackpacktocollectthejournal. Journal#3-BigGoldStar:Continuedownthehallwayfromjournal#2.Enterthedoorontheleftattheendofthehall.ExaminethebooktotheleftoftheTVontopofthecabinettocollectthisjournalentry. Journal#4-DefaultFriends:Exittheentertainmentroomwhereyoufound#3,andcontinuedownthehallway.Enterthenextdoorontheleft.Opentheclosetdoorontheleftandpullthestringtoturnonthelight.Searchthepocketofahangingjeanjacketontherighttoreadtheletter,unlockingthisjournal. Journal#5-BestLaidPlans:Continuethroughthefirstfloorhallway.Locateadressernearthecornerofthehall,justpasttheroomwhereyoufound#4.Openthebottomdrawerofthedresser,andreadthenote. Journal#6-HangingoutwithGirls:Goupthelargestaircasetothesecondfloor.Turnrightdownthehall,andturnonthelightswitchifneeded.Locatealargecabinetontheleft.Openthebottomcubbyofthecabinetandgrabthecassettetapetocollectthisjournal. Journal#7-DealingwithRoots:Continuethroughthehallonthesecondfloor.EnterthebathroomacrossthehallfromSam’sbedroomdooronthefarside.Lookbesidethebathtub,andpickupthebottleofhairdyetoreceivethisjournal. Journal#8-LietoMomandDadSituation:Continuethroughthesecondfloorhallway,andturnlefttowardtheattic.Enterthelastdoorontheright,justbeforetheattic.Walkpasttheeisel,andopenthedrawerontheleftdresser.Examinethenotetoreceivethejournal. Journal#9-AdjustingtotheDark:Onthesecondfloor,enterMomandDad’sbedroomacrossthehallfromSam’sroom.Turnonthelightswitchifnecessary,andproceedtotheclosetonthefarleftsideoftheroom.Approachthewhitewallatthebackoftheclosettoaccessasecretpassage.Continuethroughthepassageandopenthepaneltothelibrary.Onthefarleftcornerofthelibrary,searchalongthelowerwalltodiscoveralooseboardcoveringahiddenpanel.Examinetheflyertoreceivethejournalentry. Journal#10-ThereWasNothingWrong:GoupstairstothesecondfloorandenterSam’sbedroom.UnlockSam’slockerusingthecombination“0501”.Examinethephotoinsidethelockerdoortounlockthejournalentry,andmakesuretosnagthekeyshangingonthedooraswell. Journal#11-It’sDifferentNow:Enterthefirstfloorhallway.Continuetotheendofthehall,justpastthedresserwhereyoufoundJournal#5.SinceyougrabbedthekeyfromSam’sbedroomin#10,youcannowunlockthedoorattheendofthehallway.Continuedownintothebasement.Whenyoureachthepileofboxesontopofthecouch,examineapinkdrawingsittingonthecorneroftheboxflaptoreceivethisjournal. Journal#12-ShipDate:Continuethroughthebasement.Turnlefttowalkpastthefurnaceandwaterheater.Ontheleft,you’llfindalettersittingontopofabox.Readtheletterforthisjournalentry. Journal#13-ICanSing:Keepmovingthroughthebasement.LocateandentertheServant’sQuartersthroughadoorontheright.Justasyouenterthequarters,examinetheyellowscraphangingonthewalljustaheadofthedoor. Journal#14-StickwiththeGroup:ContinuethroughthebasementintothenextroompasttheServant’sQuarters.Grabthepostcardoffofthedeskstraightaheadasyouenterthedoor. Journal#15-TheNunnery:Fromthedeskwhereyoufoundthepostcardin#14,continuetothelefttofindapassagebehindthebookshelf.Walkupthestairsandkeeptotherighttoenterasmallroom.Passthroughtheroomtoandlocateapanelinadarkcorneronthefarside.Enterthepanel,andyouwillnowbebackonthefirstfloor.Locateanopenfolderonthetablebesidethecouch.Closethefolder,andexaminethescrapofpapersittingbeneathit. Journal#16-GettingLonnie:Walkthroughthecorridorpastthedeskwhereyoufoundthepostcardin#14.Enterthepassagebehindtheshelf,turningonthelightsifnecessary.Asyoureachthetopofthestairs,enterthesmallroomontheright.Readtheletteronthetabletotherighttoreceivethisjournal. Journal#17-AVeryLongPhase:Fromthecouchwhereyoufoundthescrapin#15,besuretoopenthedoorontherightofthecouch.Thiswillallowyoutoaccessthishallwaylateronwithoutgoingthroughthebasement.Now,continuethroughthehallwayandenterthedoorstraightahead,leadingtothediningroom.Openthecolorfulfolderonthecornerofthediningtable,andexaminebothnotesinsidethefoldertoreceivethisjournalentry.
