Financialinclusionisontheriseglobally.The2017GlobalFindexdatabaseshowsthat1.2billionadultshaveobtainedanaccountsince2011,including515millionsince2014.Between2014and2017,theshareofadultswhohaveanaccountwithafinancialinstitutionorthroughamobilemoneyservicerosegloballyfrom62percentto69percent.Indevelopingeconomies,thesharerosefrom54percentto63percent.Yet,womenindevelopingeconomiesremain9percentagepointslesslikelythanmentohaveabankaccount.ThisthirdeditionofthedatabasepointstoadvancesindigitaltechnologythatarekeytoachievingtheWorldBankgoalofUniversalFinancialAccessby2020.
