Giventhehugeamountofrequests,weaskyoutofirstreadthecompletearticle,beforecontactingESForoneofthenationaltradeassociationsofPPEsuppliers.Ifyouhavea'certificate'forPPEthatisclearlynotfromaNotifiedBodyforPPE(thiscertainlymeansallinstitutesfromoutsideEU,Norway,SwitzerlandorTurkey),thereisnodoubtthatthedocumentisnotavalidlegalbaseforCEmarking. EverybodyisworkingveryhardandwiththebestintentionstomakethenecessaryPPEavailabletothehealthcareworkersandotherpeopleinvolvedinthefightagainsttheCOVID-19crisis. InfirstinstancetheDeclarationofConformity(DoC)hastobeprovidedandchecked.ForproductsimportedfromoutsidetheEU(includingEFTAandotherparticipantstothesinglemarket),theimporterhastomakesurethatthemanufacturerhasdonetheconformityassessmentasforeseeninthePPERegulation(EU)2016/425.IncasewherethereisdoubtabouttheDoCorthereisnoDoCavailableorthereisimportfromoutsidetheEU,itmakessenseorisevennecessarytocheckthecertification.Seethearticles "whattodowhenimportingPPE(e.g.FFP2masks)totheEU?" and"conformityassessmentprocedureforPPE".Seealsoguidancedocument"HowtoverifythatmedicaldevicesandpersonalprotectiveequipmentcanbelawfullyplacedontheEUmarketandthuspurchasedandused-alsointheCOVID-19context"publishedbytheEUCommission.
