Standardisationisastatisticalprocesswhichcomparesyourchild'sperformancewiththeaverageperformanceofotherchildrenineachtest.Aslightadjustmentismadetotakeaccountofeachchild'sagesothattheyoungestarenotatadisadvantage.Seehereforanexplanationofthreholdscoresfor2020. Tobegivenagrammarschoolassessmentin2020,childrenneededatotalscoreof332ormore,withnosinglescorelowerthan108.Testscoresrangefrom69to141.Thehighestpossibletotalscoreis423. Applyingforsecondaryschool Kentparentswillbeabletonameupto4secondaryschoolpreferences,beforethedeadlineclosesatthestartofNovember2021. Itisimportanttofindinformationabouttheschoolsyou'reinterestedin.See'chooseaschool'informationonwww.kent.gov.ukApplicationsforsecondaryschoolin2022canbedoneonlinethroughKenthere andwillopeninSeptember2021. Ifyourchildisassessedassuitableforgrammarschool, anyKentgrammarschoolyouapplyforwillconsideryourapplication,butthisdoesnotguaranteeyourchildwillbeofferedaplace. Ifmorechildrenqualifyforplacesthanithasspacefor,theschoolmustuseits admissionscriteria todecidewhichchildrentoofferplacesto. Ifyourchildisnotofferedaplaceatagrammarschoolbecauseitisfullyoucanputtheirnameontheschool's school'swaitinglist.Youcanalso appeal toexplainwhyyouthinktheschoolshouldadmityourchildeventhoughitisfull.
