美國罕見疾病組織（英文：TheNationalOrganizationforRareDisorders，縮寫：NORD）是美國一家以為罕見病患者服務為宗旨的非營利組織，主要方式是推動和資助相關研究、教育和合作[1]。
該組織成立於1983年，創辦者是阿貝·邁耶斯，多個罕見病支持團體參與創辦[1][2]。
該組織是一家501(c)3免稅組織[1]。
歷史
1982年，罕見病家庭和支持團體成立了一個「非正式聯盟」，呼籲立法支持孤兒藥和治療罕見病的藥物研發[3]。
這個組織成功地使美國國會在1983年初通過了孤兒藥法案（英語：OrphanDrugActof1983）（ODA）[1][3][4][5]。
聯盟最初由阿貝·邁耶斯領導，一位妥瑞症患者的母親[6]。
妥瑞症不是罕見病，但邁耶斯的兒子得到一種孤兒藥的救治。
孤兒藥法案通過後，這一聯盟成立了美國罕見疾病組織，由邁耶斯擔任主席。
2007年，她宣布卸任主席職務[3]。
現任主席為皮特·索頓斯托爾[2]。
美國罕見疾病組織自成立以來，一直收到美國聯邦政府撥款[3]和社會捐贈資助。
活動
美國罕見疾病組織主要活動包括資助罕見病的研究和治療、遊說立法（除了推動孤兒藥法案通過，還推動立法使病例公開在網際網路上和研發相關醫療器械[3]）、普及罕見病知識、資助罕見病患者就醫等[1][7]。
2009年2月，美國罕見疾病組織在美國發起開展國際罕見病日活動，這是美國首次開展國際罕見病日活動（歐洲在2008年2月第一次舉辦國際罕見病日活動）[4][8][9]。
