大部分人听说过乙型肝炎，可是知道丙型肝炎的少之又少。

丙型肝炎是由丙型肝炎病毒所引起的。

事实上，丙型肝炎的危害程度仅次于乙型肝炎，然而医学界却直到1989年才发现丙型肝炎病毒。

常规的体检不包括丙型肝炎这一项，疫苗目前也只有乙肝疫苗还没有研制出丙肝疫苗。

丙型肝炎的传染途径丙型肝炎病毒与乙型肝炎病毒的传染途径类似，也是经由体液及血液传染。

输血造成的感染在以往，丙型肝炎的感染途径主要是经由输血。

丙型肝炎可说是以往“输血后肝炎”的典型代表。

国内从1992年才开始大规模对献血者进行丙型肝炎的筛检，因此，1992年以前曾接受过输血的人，就有可能感染丙型肝炎。

但尽管如此，所有的丙型肝炎患者当中，大约只有一半有过输血病史；且自从全面对献血者筛检丙型肝炎之后，因输血而感染丙型肝炎的情况就几乎不曾发生过了。

由此可见，还有其他的感染途径是不容忽视的。

感染途径与乙型肝炎类似，但少见母子感染丙型肝炎的感染途径大致与乙型肝炎类似，凡是有可能“见血”的行为，都有可能造成感染。

例如刺青、针灸、穿耳洞时针剂消毒不完全、共用刮胡刀或牙刷、毒瘾患者共用针头等。

性行为或接吻造成感染的机会不大（可参考前述关于乙型肝炎的传染途径）。

与乙型肝炎的感染最大的不同是，丙型肝炎很少经由母子垂直传染。

喜欢打针造成丙肝盛行有不少的丙型肝炎患者无法正确推断其受到传染的原因，但人们在生病时总是喜欢求助于打针，看病时总误以为打针可以使病好得快，更有甚者，认为打“补针”可以强壮身体；打针的次数太频繁，再加上针剂可能消毒不完全，自然就大大提高了感染丙型肝炎的机会。

丙肝非经饮食感染与乙型肝炎相同的是，丙型肝炎并不是经由饮食传染的。

所以，与丙型肝炎患者共进餐时，餐具不必刻意分开；与丙型肝炎患者共处也不会造成感染。

关于这点，一样可以参考前面乙型肝炎传染途径的说明。

丙型肝炎的症状感染丙型肝炎初期通常不会有症状，若有症状，一般来说也会比乙型肝炎来得轻微些。

只有在导致严重肝炎、演变到肝硬化末期或肝癌末期时，才会有恶心、呕吐、食欲不振、倦怠、黄疸、腹水、水肿、体重减轻等症状出现。
